Youtube&Web Video Content creators.

Post by DeanTheAdequate » Fri Apr 28, 2017 11:01 am

So a lot of web drama and insanity, and good stuff, happens in small video content produced by lots of folks on the internet. I figured we could use a thread dedicated to these folks and the good and bad of it all.

I start with one of my favorite content creators, Clint at Lazy Game Reviews. He reviews a lot of old PC stuff. Games, peripherals, history, he does it all. This is not one of those vids. This is a video of someone who is being very transparent of how he gets things done and how it's effected him over the years. It's chock full of things that a lot of creators could use in the way of great advice.

His other stuff is pretty great too. I recommend him.

I like to visit the YT anti-SJW communities and Triggerz McKnickers is one of the most original ones. He does these little skits involving the puppet title character who has been thrown into the job of a college professor and all little hijinx involved...

Episode 1: Let's Talk About Safe Spaces and Trigger Warnings.
Episode 2: Let's Talk About Gender Identity and All of Its Fruity Flavors.
Episode 3: Let's Talk About Black Lives Matter and Why it's Not Racist When They Do It.

This is more of a podcast, but I've been getting into 25 Years of Vampire: The Masquerade which has been going over stuff from the game line. If you're a World of Darkness fan like me or at least have some fond memories of it, you'll enjoy it.

I enjoy Internet Historian because I find web oddities and drama very entertaining. His dry delivery is really what makes it.

In my opinion, The Rageaholic is without question the best channel on YouTube.

My man Razorfist gives no quarter as he tears into various and sundry bullshit, including, but not limited to:

-Laying into a sacred cow of video game industry (YMMV on this one, but as for myself, I love it)

-Chewing out weebs bitching about the Ghost in the Shell movie being "whitewashed"

-Taking the rampant encroach of political correctness in video games to task

-Ditto for comics

-Debunking the myth of "Sexism in Metal"

-Twisting the knife on abject failures like Mass Effect: Andromeda

-Tackling the latest in leftist bullshit in the political arena

Contrary to the name, he has several positive reviews on his channel, and his reviews of badass action flicks and career retrospectives of metal bands (and a few non-metal bands as well) show how exhaustively researched his content is. I'd thoroughly recommend his channel to anyone on this site. Even if you don't agree with his opinions, you'll always be entertained.

Kind of lost interest in Razorfist, but his Judas Priest retrospective inspired me to write my own (I have all of their studio albums up to, and including, Painkiller).

Anyway, found some videos by some guy named Ahoy detailing the making of Wolfenstein and Doom:

His streams are where some of his best shit comes from, since it's all candid and off the cuff when answering fan questions. He recently did a Thief II stream where he told a story about meeting Katy Perry by chance a long-ass time ago when she was still basically a nobody (and going by another name) and finding out she's apparently a massive weeb, or, in his own parlance, a nihongophile

Now who can forget Fine Game Bitches? On what should've been a bad idea, turns out to be one of the most underrated channels out there.
